Hi everyone. I'm new here and I was diagnosed with ADHD recently (in my 30th). So happy to find this place to talk. I was always considered as careless toward my homework, relationships, job, and so on. I can't say I'm happy with having a disorder but at least I've found an explanation. The problems I had in my life have bothered me so long and also the shame I used to feel when I did something wrong and carelessly.
I'm not familiar with how this community page works and I also don't know who can read my posts but it's still a great feeling to talk to people who understand me.

Hi! I agree with Halowell and encourage you not to think of ADHD as a disorder. He proposes “variable attention stimulus trait” (VAST), a name that allows us to “de-medicalize” ADHD and focus instead on the huge benefits of having an ADHD brain." additudemag.com/attention-d... Personally, I like to just think of it as having received the explorer gene. Happy to hear that you are able to start moving on from shame the from carelessness. I often still struggle with attention to detail and focus and carelessness and I appreciated seeing your post and reminder on that point. Thank you!
Hey there. I also just found this community. I’m relieved to find a place to vent and share if I remember to check in on it, that is, lol!ADD is a real struggle, for me too. Everyday it’s something different, a new challenge.
