In all honesty, these are questions that should be asked of the psychiatrist. They obviously have a reason, but no one here can give you a definite answer as to why. We can only speculate which is not going to be helpful. You really need to have this conversation with your psychiatrist.
You should go to a clinical psychologist who specializes in ADHD diagnosis. You wont get one from a psychiatrist. The only thing they do is give out medication. I had to stop going to psychiatrists because they were so bad at managing adhd. Now I go to a psychiatric nurse practitioner who specializes in adhd and she is so much better than the many psychiatrists that I have seen.
First of all ADHD is not a mental illness ! It is a alteration of brain function- It is not an illness Secondly, Adderall, and Concerta are both used primarily to treat ADHD - stimulants ) did you talk to the pharmiscist before starting these meds?- Go to Physicians Desk refernce or goodle search these meds so you know the actions , side effects . Wellbutrin is an antidepressant - with an off lable use to trreat ADHD. Frankly as a Health Care Provider and someone with ADHD myself - this seem like too much in the way of medications.- since both Adderall and Concerta are stimulants- I am not sure if you re having any side effects like insomnia or hyperactivity more than the usual. As for feeling different. NO the medications for ADHD do not make you "feel different" nor should you expect that - they may support you to be more focused - to think more clearly - to slow down and do one task at a time - but it takes therapy and ongoing support- primariy Cognitive Behavioral therapy not just medications to make the difference! And it sounds like you don't much about ADHD- It is urgent you learn as mnuch as you can about ADHD and depression . Suggest you do some research - there are tons of books out here - suggest- Driven to distraction- By Edward Howell and John Ratey- Howell has a fair number other books- answers to distraction , delivered from= - And You mean I an not lazy, stupid or crazy-- by Kelly, Kate and Peggy ramundo. Also please have loner discussion with the Psychiatrist who prescribed this - have him/her refer you to therapist and if possible to an ADHD support group ( most on zoom or other on line platforms these days due to COVID!)
