Do u guys relate to this

So I always thought growing up that my hypersensitivity was a superpower such as hearing what others are talking about, can smell the perfume from miles away (although strong perfumes gave me a massive headache), thinking out of the box(sometimes it was quite stupid ideas I come up with), can daydream when bored so I was never bored but I had light sensitivity and it just makes everything difficult especially when I go through headaches and it is always weird when I wear sunglasses during the night because of the street lights, I once went to the ophthalmology because I was having the constant headaches and dry eyes and I used to complain saying my headache is due to eye problem and the doctor confirmed that I had great vision but I still believed there was something wrong with my eyes, now as I came to learn about ADHD I realised that it was a brain problem rather than eye problem and since mental illness is hardly talked about they say that we just live through the difficulties but after taking the medication it was like a life changer for me cuz I never understood the feeling of being grounded or focus when u wanted.

Yes! In fact I have always told people it was my “Spidey Senses!” I cannot stand the smell of perfume or cigarette smoke. I can easily spot wildlife. I refer to my imagination out loud to people as MY world. I easily drift off there, and I call it “checking out.” (It was very bad when I was little … my parents would get so angry with me for sitting in my “ivory tower” rather than spending family time together, and they would always ask me “what are you doing?!” And I always reply “nothing” which upset them more…but honestly I was just daydreaming!)

I have a hard time with sound. I watch tv quietly with subtitles on. I wear my noise blocking target range ear protection regularly. I get furious when I hear neighbors talking or playing loud music. Blood boiling rage. Also when I am at the office in the mornings, sounds are incredibly distracting. (I’m a mail carrier, and spend about 1-2 hours in the office organizing my route…once I’m in the street I’m fine.)

I’m a picky eater. I like very plain and simple food.

Anyway…Spidey Senses. Yep. (And not only did the psych confirm adult adhd, he also said I’m high functioning autism…also sensitive)

yes especially cigarettes and I thought I had weak lungs oof, since it's genetic my mom kinda understood since childhood that I was a big dreamer and since I don't have siblings my mom let me venture my dreams, also I understand watching tv in low volume even I wonder why there is so many levels in my computer volume bar like I could never imagine anyone listening to really loud music , I love that u have a name for the sense it makes sense, Spidy sense😆

I can't quite relate as I don't have that degree of hypersensitivity, although I do get over irritated by a few weird things.

I just wanted to say I'm so happy for you that you have found a life-changing medication! That must feel really great! Congratulations!

It does not mean you are ADHD, though. It's only one of several different possibilities.

I really hate the word illness! I am not ill! My brain is wired differently than some others and I was born that way! I can be inattentive or hyperactive or hyperfocused. Lose track of time easily- have issues with estimating how long things will take . we are hard on ourselves. And some of the things you describle do not ffit into classic ADHD according to the DMS5 - but may be a co- morbidity with ADHD . As for being a picky eater- no that is not symptom of ADHD - I have been an over eater almsot all my life and battled my weight - I do not have super vision nor do other folks I know with ADHD- and I do not have super smelling ability- nor do other folks I know in my ADHD group - so do not confuse all your symptoms with ADHD- Ansd I am a Health Care Professional with ADHD

Yeah! everything out of the ordinary is called illness but it can also be due to the severity of Adhd symptoms, people who battle with ADHD for a long time may be able to cope with the symptoms unlike me, my hypersensitivity can cause irritation for me so I was wondering if other people could relate with it.
