Hello,

I have ADHD and anxiety/depression. I am currently taking 27mg of Ritalin ER, 40mg of Prozac, 1mg of Guanfacine, and 15mg of mirtazipine. I am very new to the Ritalin, guanfacine, and mirtazipine. The ritalin and guanfacine has absolutely helped me slow down my thoughts and have better memory. The mirtazipine has helped a lot with my sleep. I want to get off the Prozac if possible but am nervous about my anxiety symptoms worsening.

This combo of meds was seeming to help, I have really only been on the mirtazipine, guanfacine, and ritalin for a month. Recently, I have been more on edge and anxious again, feel a little flat, and have had greater trouble focusing and staying on task.

I am 6’2” about 245lbs. Do you think I should look into increasing my dosage of ritalin or trying something else? I tried 36mg ER of ritalin and it seemed to jack me up a little more. I am also a big coffee drinker so maybe if I cut down on my caffeine intake it would help. Just wanted to see what dosage of medications or specific medications help anyone with some of the symptoms that I am experiencing.

Hi I'm 44 woman and I suffer from depression and anxiety and add and am on ritilan sr 20 mg and cymbalta and lamictal and I have been on the ritilan for a few years now and it helps alot. Maybe u could go down a little on it and see if u r less on edge or up I would talk to your doctor.

The caffeine in combination with the ritalin could definitely be the cause of the increased anxiety. Many people can't combine two CNS stimulants without anxiety, but some can. I'm fine on just my adderall or just caffeine (in fact adderall by itself actually decreases my anxiety because a majority of my anxiety is caused by my adhd), but combining the two would send me into an anxiety spiral.
