I started Vyvanse 30mg a week ago. I have more energy but still distracted and forgetful. Does it take time?

Vyvanse working?
Spacehead - It sounds to me like you may need to talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage, as 30 mg may not be sufficient for you. Vyvanse goes all the way up to 70 mg, and you may want to try going up 10 or 20 mg at a time to find your ideal dosage (see: additudemag.com/medication/... ).
That has been my limited experience, as well. I was at 70mg and gave up on it a few weeks ago. Now I'm trying again, because, wow, do I like how even I feel. My energy is slowly returning, my emotional regulation is more in my control, etc. I never felt so "smooth" on years of Adderall. Unfortunatly, my focus and memory doesn't seem to be improved at all.
Since I can't go higher than 70 (which seems odd, because I was well above the typical normal (arbitrary) recommend max Adderall dosage for about 8 years), I'm going to look more into finding out if you can combine it with something else to aid focus. I need to find a specialist though, because my prescriber said he won't do that (also he frequently triggers me, so I need to find someone anyways) 😂
Yeah limiting to 70 seems strange, but I’m no expert. My nurse practitioner said she can go higher (can’t remember how much) than 70. Yeah if you can I’d recommend someone in psychiatrics. My nurse has been awesome. Will be jumping up to 40 mg tomorrow. She said it will be trial and error. She also said she can meet with me once a week until we get it down.
I also used to have a doctor that triggered me and I left very quickly. I hope things go better for you this time around.
I would give any med a couple of weeks. Meds are an individualized protocol, you will want to be in contact with your doctor regarding the effect of the med you are trying. My take from my own experience with meds is that finding the right med is rarely a linear path. Leave a message for the doctor regarding the meds and questions you have. I think it is better to find the right med than to default to a less than positive Med, 30mg is a low amount, so you should be able to increase to 40mgs as a trial. Meds are not magic bullets, they are part of the solution if you want them to be.
