No insurance for a diagnosis or meds

I have been pretty sure I have adult ADHD for at least 6 months now, but lost my job and have no insurance to cover getting diagnosed or any medication or therapy. The covid situation has completely inhibited any hope for executive function and my anxiety is through the roof. Any ideas for resources/substitutes for medication would be greatly appreciated

You may want to look at clinicaltrials.gov to see if there are any clinical trials for adult ADHD in your area or online. A research study may be able to provide you with a diagnosis. Also, you may be eligible for medicare (not sure what your state's eligibility criteria are) so that you could see a medicare-accepting doctor for medication management for your ADHD, given the research diagnosis from the research study. Or, from my experience, a primary care doctor can diagnosis (although, it typically isn't super thorough) and then prescribe medication.

Good idea from the reply above. If you R younger than 65, U can see if U can apply for

Medi cal or Medi caid depending on your state. Please try to call the COVID-19 hotline in your state. Because so many people who have never experienced serious mental health issues, R seeking out help for their depression and anxiety, there might be avenues to obtain Meds that can assist you with your ADHD Good luck S
