Concerta- Stopped taking it. Having difficulty starting to take it again.

I was on concerta 72 mg that i stopped 4 years ago. It was magic and it realy turned around mylife. Regret why i stopped it. I want to get back onto taking concerta. I started trying it a fews times by starting of with doses of 18 mg and building up after a week. For some reason 18 mg agrees with me at first but it loses effectiveness after a few days. There after when i increase doses not winning. I think because i stopped taking it and wanting to start taking it again it did effect something. Any tips you have for me. Will really appreciate it.

If the concerta 72mg was so liberating and changed your life what was the reason you stopped?? Did you have side effects?? Or is there another reason??

Since you are trying the concerta again but at 18mg, it's a much lower dose. Sounds like your body is getting used to it again. ADHD medication is not meant to last a week with one dose. The drugs ability to affect you loses it's potency over time, which is why it wears off.

Why not take the 18mg for a week every day and see how you feel? Are you getting more done?? Do you feel better?? Monitor yourself and see if you have improvements. Keep a journal and write down every day what is happening to you.

If life is better, you should consider taking it every day.
