Hi, everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I was diagnosed with ADHD about 7 years ago and am currently taking Adderall. I also was diagnosed with major depressive disorder 25 years ago to the month and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the fall 2019. I have been on just about every medication there is to treat my depression, and my doctor has now recommended I look at possibly beginning Spravato nasal spray, which is for treatment-resistant depression. I am having second thoughts about starting it because the side effects could be very bad (high blood pressure, hallucinations, among others). I am here for support because my husband has never had any kind of mental illness, nor have any of his family members, and does not understand what I am going through, even after being married for 30 years this year and me being diagnosed so long ago. Thank you for accepting me!

Hi there. I’m in exactly the same situation. I’ll be doing my first Ketamine treatment this Friday. My husband is skeptical about it and thinks it’s too extreme because he doesn’t understand what I’m going through. He says he supports me trying though, and that’s all I can ask of him for now. I too am slightly skeptical since nothing else has helped in the past. But I’m also cautiously optimistic. Good luck. I’ll be thinking of you.

It's so nice to know that someone else is in the same boat! Thank you for the well wishes! Best of luck to you, too, on your treatment! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Hello. I have just joined the group and was wondering if you would share your experience with the Ketamine treatment. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and been on Aderral for 10 years as well as Lorazapam for anxiety and sleep. A recent spine injury has cause my activity level to decrease, which is how I used to manage my symptoms. I had looked into Ketamine treatment, however, insurance would not cover. But if it really worked I would find a way to pay out of pocket. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! Welcome! Actually, I still have not started the ketamine treatment. I switched psychiatrists, and she found a few meds I haven't tried yet, so we are trying those first.

Good luck with your treatment!
