ADHD & Sound Healing
I have tried sound therapy and have enjoyed it. I wish it would cure ADHD. I have read the following and it helps me...
"....sound therapy is said to heighten the frontal lobe activity consistently. Moreover, sound therapy retrains the brain to listen more efficiently. ... It is believed that continual sound therapy can boost focus and attention, lower hyperactivity and support social skills." I googled it to best explain it since it's early in the morning.
I also take medication and listen to sound healing on my echo. I find that it helps me feel more grounded. I much prefer the live sound therapy vs. the echo. I wish the sound therapy places where I live were not so expensive to join. Very few that I have found are pay as a donation. I wish they had more of in my area. I was going to join one but found out that this sound healing group allows pot smoking in the same room. I have asthma and I don't do well with pot.
I like everyones answers, and I would like to add that certain sounds have the ability to relax your mind and body. Some do the reverse depends on what's going on. If you get up and dance to the flow of the music it also adds movement which helps with entrainment, releasing stress and connecting with your body and it's a type of exercise. Plus all you need is music and a way to play it. Close your eyes and let yourself go, and it's fun. to boot.
Sound therapy for ADHD is one of the effective means of comprehensive intervention for ADHD. It belongs to the scope of psychological intervention, which is an effective method to improve the attention of patients with ADHD.
