Vyvanse only lasts 6hrs

Hi everyone, I'm on 70 mg of vyvanse and if I take it really early in the morning, by lunch time I am super tired. Since I'm already on the highest dose, what can I do?

Also, been on it for about a month.

Thanks!

Shire says it lasts 14 hours. It does not. At least the therapeutic effect doesn't last 14 hours.

Call doctor today and tell them the problem.

What you need to do is spread out that dose. Doctors will tell you that taking a 70mg extended release is like taking two 35mg instant releases a day, 1 will push out at the beginning and a few hours later the other will. A lot of people don't have this fortunate effect (including me).

I would recommend to ask for either 2 (35mg per day) or 3 (20 mg per day) because I used to do that high dosage only once at the beginning and it was pointless for me at one point.

I have the same problem with Vyvanse, I take it around 8ish, and my 2-3pm, it's GONE. My doc suggested adding Adderall, 5-10 mg midafternoon to help "drag it out" but I haven't done so yet. Also, my doc suggested it as a perfectly normal option, but two other doc I've seen and mentioned that too acted as if it was the worst possible idea, so YMMV.

I dont take vyvanse but I take concerta in the morning and then when it wears off I take a instant release ritalin, if I need to I take another dose of it to finish my day off. I work 12 hour shifts so that helps me.

Both the drugs I take are methylphenidate. It's best to take drugs that are the same chemical class.

Not sure if you still see this. But hopefully you talked to your doc. About what you shared.

Vyvance for me was ok it didn't last long enough. & It had a drop I didn't like . There are other med.s that last longer . Depending on what is a good fit for you .
