Hello my fellow adhdiers I am wondering who has been effective at finding and implementing coping mechanisms into your life with regard to relationships and in a university setting. I struggling with internal distractions even when I take medication. Getting information out of my head in a timely manner is difficult too. How have you adjusted to your world regardless of where you are at in life.

thank you.

Hard work. Persistence. Appreciation therapy. Exercise, a good diet, keeping loved ones close, and keeping a positive attitude, always.

Learning is both iterative and empirical. It’s a challenge sometimes but I wouldn’t change my unique brain for any other.

Exercise has really helped me...going for a run or a walk, making myself take a step back and ask myself...what am I trying to say with this paper? What questions am I answering? Coming back to my writing helps me to see where I may have been a bit disorganized in my thinking and jumped into another topic too quickly with out giving a Segway or helping to guide my readers there. It’s really tough for me bc I know what’s in my head but it doesn’t always come out that way on paper.... this helps me, hopefully it’ll help you too or at least be something you can try.

That makes a lot of sense Sara. I'm grateful for your response. I'm still very much in the process of recognizing what I have a tendency to do and it's just as you describe.
