Ritalin or Concerta advise please...?

Hi, I started on 3 x 10mg ritalin about 4 weeks ago, with pretty ordinary repercussions -greater anxiety, jittery, nauseas etc..but did find me slightly more motivated. I stopped the meds due to the anxiety alot worse, however my brain fog has come back, along with zero motivation and focus. In this case, would anyone recommend Concerta (slow release) as this may not be as intense as ritalin? Thanks in advance!

Hello Friend, I am currently on Concerta and it is once a day tablet. I take a 36mg, and it is a stimulant which does make my anxiety go up. I did have to eliminate my sugar intake which does affect my anxiety. I have been working with a social worker who has helped me with techniques to help.

I, too, tried adderall 10 mg slow release. It was during an unusually stressful time in my life. I began over time to experience greater anxiety. Thus, my therapist and I decided to forego ADHD medications. I also experienced some life changes and did not return to counseling due to unexpected circumstances .

Fast forward 3 years. I started seeing my therapist again about six months ago. We decided together that medication would be helpful once more. I am almost 70 and have many projects I want to complete. Projects that excite me! But, my ability to focus and that old foe procrastination prohibit goal fulfillment. Otherwise, I am happy and greatly enjoy this life stage and the people who share it.

So I have started concerta— 18 mg once every morning. It has really helped! At times I experience anxiety, but it is manageable. Much more so than adderall was. While the effectiveness does lessen later in the afternoon/evening, it is less noticeable than with adderall. I sleep well and feel satisfied with my daily activities. I get more done and still have ample people and “me” time.

I hope you have greater success with concerta.

Hey.see if you can ask for Lisdexamfetamine.it doesn’t have the drop like concerta does.

I used to be on Ritalin 100 mg a day for a few years and concerta.

If I were you I would sort the anxiety out first as it’s obviously there.

Once that’s sorted prob my meds then try adhd meds again.

Mate you’ve to go through some shit with it but it’s worth it in the long run 😁

Try it. I’ve heard people say they really like vyvanse but it’s expensive. Also ask you doctor if you can take add medication with a low dose of anti anxiety/medication it helps me I started 6moths ago

I had difficulty with both. The rebound effect with Ritalin was challenging. I became very emotional with Concerta. I have found that Adderol works best for me so far.
