Greetings. I do not have an official diagnosis of ADHD, but it has long been suspected by my mother, wife, and friends that I do indeed have this disorder. When I read articles about ADHD, and testimonials from those who have it, I feel like I am reading my biography. From the inability to even contemplate starting projects, forgetfulness, losing things, alternating bouts of severe hypo and hyper activity, chronic mental exhaustion, and plethora of half finished, incomplete tasks, to the impulsive behavior that has cost me 3 nursing jobs in 5 years and nearly destroyed my marriage...It’s all there. Being an uninsured American living in the Bible Belt, my resources are limited. I am unsure how I should proceed at this point. I have started reading some self help stuff, but reading and retaining such material is akin to pouring lemon juice in my eyes. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated muchly! Thanks.
