Hi! Nice to meet you. I have also had mixed success. The only things that really seem to have worked for me are meditation retreats (Vipassana - taught by S.N. Goenka) and a raw diet (probably unsustainable; currently don't follow).
I'm always looking for information on rewiring. If you want some reading material that might energize you in this endeavor, I recommend Norman Doidge's The Brain that Changes Itself. Amazing book.
