My name is Jim and I'm an adult living with ADHD. One problem I have is that when I go to the doctors, they are so sceptical. "How do you know you have ADHD? Who diagnosed you? I'll give you a little bit of medicine but not much.

How can I find a real ADHD doctor who knows that I suffer from that and have for years.

Hi. Finding a psychiatrist specific for ADHD can come from a variety of searches, including Psychology Today. If you are willing to come to Milwaukee, WI - there is a doctor here who can see you once and then work with you by phone in the future. I met him recently and he is personable.

Wow, that's strange. Seem like just by talking to you for a short while they could tell.

Hopefully you have some testing and paper work. If not they should be willing to get you some testing to start helping you.
