Subclinical Acne

Hi all - I’ve had acne on and off since middle school (I’m 32 now), and recently thought I’d solved the problem through my diet - I’ve cut out gluten, dairy, and sugar. It’s no fun, but I thought it was really helping, along with a simple hygiene regimen. But lately, I’ve been getting these tiny, under-the-skin bumps that don’t fully turn into pimples but they also don’t go away, and they get inflamed after I wash my face (they seem to calm down by the next day). I think it might be subclinical acne and I don’t know what to do. They just started popping up on my forehead and cheekbones maybe a month ago. Has anyone else here dealt with this kind of acne? It’s not the kind of acne I’ve had before, but it’s still taking a toll on my confidence. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
