My daughter has had an iep for speech since she was 3.5 (early intervention through the school district). She is now 11 and does theater. I was blown away watching her articulate, speak slowly, and confidently. I think that once she got onto the right medication (vyvanse), it helps her focus and slow down. That’s just my very non medical opinion!
hi there - I would see a speech pathologist. Sometimes expressive speech delay is caused by fine motor delay related to the mouth. There is a specific type of therapy called Prompt that works wonders!
my daughter didn’t have any speech issues before stimulants, but her anxiety went up, so she started having tics by clearing her throat. We are looking into other options. Nonstimulants work better for me. If you’re concerned about side effects, try getting a gene sight test.
