Dextroamphetamine ER by Wilshire Pharmaceutical

My son has adhd combined type, and had been taking the above medication by the manufacturer Wilshire Pharmaceutical. It worked wonders, and he was doing very well...until it switched to another manufacturer (Mallinckrodt). It was a disaster, and it was if my son didn't take any medication. I've been calling around to see what other pharmacies in New Jersey who may carry this medication by Wilshire, but have struck out. Does anyone happen to know what/which pharmacies in New Jersey may carry this?

I live in Canada, so can't help you, but is there a way to report this? You can also see if the doctor can put some pressure on the pharmacy to switch back...

There should be more than 2 generic manufacturers. Perhaps you will do better wtih a 3rd choice if youcan't get the Wilshire brand.

I have prior auth put in for Zenzedi which is the name brand made by Willshire. It's the same exact pill. No other brand will come close so scratch that idea I've been taking Dextroamphetamine for 40 years and the only two that ever worked were Glaxosmithkline which was d/c in 2006 and Zenzedi or generic made by Willshire. Mallinckrodt I've only had their Adderall but asked the pharmacy to never use it or any other generic ever again. Generic ADHD meds are trash just awful. If your provider explains you can't get Wilshire and the other generic doesn't work at all and you would like Zenzedi the name brand since said generic is not available.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I greatly appreciate it! The name brand Adderall XR that my son was put on after this experience, has been pure junk so I will see about Zenzedi in the hope it can be filled somewhere, and actually work! Been so stressful!
