ADHD parenting struggles
I have had a lot of luck with local resources like the police and fire department. They have been super helpful and taken a lot of time to work with me and my child.
wait, you mean neurotypicals don’t leave babies in the car seat on the roof? Lmao. We all make mistakes. It’s part of being human. It does happen more with our condition. Some people even decide to not drive because they don’t want to take that chance. It’s all about weighing pros and cons based on our abilities. There are some motherhood adhd groups on Facebook.
The fire department worked with my son one-on-one for a few months about safety, including fire safety. And the police have been great talking to my child about staying safe in the community. He is an escape artist still at seven so we have had the police bring him home several times, and they have taken time with him to explain to him why he can’t run away.
