I have a 10 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD so routines are a struggle. I recently got a Google Nest for my birthday from a friend. I don't know much about it but I am wondering if anyone has used it to help their kids with routines or other tricks for kiddos with ADHD.
Thank you!

We have Alexa’s, but same concept. I set up routines to give him heads up before bed and school, those reminders are amazing and I don’t have to worry about forgetting. We also use them as timers allllll the time. Timers for tv time, and warning timers. These simple ways have really made all the difference for us
Can you elaborate a bit more about your routines? Are they simply alarms for bedtime and 30 minutes prior or are they more elaborate? Also, can you tell me more about warning timers, please. We use Alexa all the time for general alarms and audio books at bedtime, but I’ve never explored routines. It sounds like I’m missing out on some features that might make family life easier!!
every morning before school my son watches a bit of tv while eating breakfast, so at a certain time Alexa announces “time to turn off the tv, we leave in 10 minutes”. An hour before bedtime Alexa announces “time for bedtime gummy, bed in 1 hour”, 30 minutes before “time for potty and pjs, bed in 30 minutes” and then at bedtime it’s a simple announcement of “time for bed”. All of this helps me so much because I get carried away and forget to reminders. We also use it when he watches tv to set screentime timers. And when he on a different floor and we’re trying to get his attention while he’s watching tv we use the Alexa to pause the tv so he can actually process that we’re talking to him. And if all else fails and he refuses to turn off the tv, we use the Alexa to turn it off. He can be very defiant so we often have to set a timer for 5 minutes and explain the consequence that happens once the timer goes off if he doesn’t do what he needs to. Other times we turn on his favorite songs in the morning to encourage him to get out of bed. I can’t imagine our lives with out 😂😂 It’s like having a neutral party in the house to help through his defiance.
