Thank you for this group. I am considering neurofeedback for my newly diagnosed 6 year old son. I could get trained in it and administer it myself (I'm a psychotherapist). Does anyone have experience with it? Can you recommend a particular NF system? Thanks so much for any information!

I hadn't even considered that neurofeedback could be used with kids younger than teenagers, but your question sparked my interest.
I soon found this article from last year:
additudemag.com/basics-neur...
I'll have to read the full article later, but it made me realize that we all essentially engage with neurofeedback constantly. The therapy makes purposeful use of this fact.
Fascinating!
I hope that you find out some good information on this. I'll look into it, too, since it may be helpful for one of my kids. (My 11 year old is anxious about switching from homeschooling to public school.)
I would recommend you look at previous questions in the group. We have discussed this a number of times.
Best of luck.
Im interested in this too. The fees for it are obscene in my area - 500 a session! The machine costs that much to rent. Our Dr says the results she’s seen are mixed but I want to try. Following g this thread for suggestions.
We purchased a professional NF machine about 2 1/2 years ago from a company called "Neuroptimal." We rented first for a month and it was clearly effective. So far so good. My kiddos capacity to settle has improved dramatically. We had a brain scan done 18 months later and the results were remarkable. I highly recommend it.
My child was 11 when we started; we did the follow up brain scan about a year ago. Amazing. My child uses it 2-3 times/week. I use it myself to help with sleep about 4-5 times/week. I've just started using it occasionally with my 7-year-old.
the psychiatrist who did my sons neuropsych testing recommended “mightier”. I believe it was developed by Harvard and Boston children’s hospital.
