Evaluating the ADHD evaluation

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone who can review an ADHD evaluation, and give me an expert opinion on whether the evaluation was valid or not. For example, if data collection period is supposed to be 6 months, but it was only 4 months, then they could tell me whether this invalidates the evaluation.

Ideally someone in the California Bay Area.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Just curious where in the bay area.. it is very large? Also what age is your child? Some specialist focus only on a certain age (elementary, middle school or high school).

Hope I can help you find someone.

Maybe try:Center for assessment and learning:

This is one private specialist

( Burlingame )

Here is a psycharitist:

UCSF Pediatric Hyperactivity, Attention and Learning Problems (HALP) Clinic

(San Francisco)

I do not have any personal experience in either place, but maybe someone on the list does.

If these don't work, you could search for a private educational advocate and maybe they could either help you or find a reference for you.

Best of luck.

Don't count out neurologist's out or NueroPsych. A lot of times they have much more experience with ADHD than say a psychiatrist. ADHD in its definition is a neurological condition more than psychiatric. Also, there are a lot of psychologists who specialize in ADHD and can treat the child and work with a prescriber to make sure you get what you need. I've been treated by all three. I just think if you are looking for a psych, maybe that's not what's needed yet. Whoever you like the best and has very legit positive reviews. It's not as hard as one may think, just need to seek the right professionals for the situation. Good Luck
