Child care
Do you think your grandson's school could help? Maybe even like a summer school where he could get services.
Good luck.
Could you look in to the YMCA for summer programs or any local sports camps that will help keep him busy?
Could you ask his therapist if they know of child care options for kids who have endured trauma? The other resource might be the behavioral health department of your local children’s hospital or community mental health center. He is not someone who should be put in just any daycare, especially with that trauma history and his current behavior. I know that is a very difficult situation for you. However, an untrained day care provider could end up really retraumatizing him if they don’t understand how to work with him constructively. That would be my worry. Or can you and your family change your work schedules for a while as he is getting treatment?
try contacting any organization that helps with special needs or your pediatrician. They can usually tell you about local childcare options for children with special needs. You may want to consider if he is still safe in the situation with his mom if he was hurt by her partner. Social services might have some resources.
