Has anyone tried saffron for ADHD? I’m just curious due to all the new articles coming out relating it to some medications for ADHD and being beneficial.

Saffron and ADHD
I have not tried Saffron, we have not had any success with food/diet changes.
But we have amazing results with medication and do not see any negative side effects ( of course cost and having to pick them up).
Our son is able to deal with the symptoms of ADHD with the help of medication.
Ok thank you. My son actually cannot take any medication for adhd due to both of us having a gene that causes Brugada. I’m going to try saffron, not holding my breath. He’s starting to get bullied in first grade and says he only has one friend on and off. My heart aches for him.
Since meds aren’t an option, I have seen some positive changes with Probiotics for my kiddo.
He takes probiotics, fish oil, multivitamin. I’m actually going to go ahead and start him on saffron as well and see how that works. He cannot have any types of medications for ADHD, stimulant or non-at this time due to the heart issue. Brugada is not a very well-known disease of the heart as they have only been studying it for the past 20 years. We have to be cautious about medication due to all of the side effects involved such as tachycardia, bradycardia, hypertension, hypotension, and many others, etc. thank you so much for your reply. I guess not many people are using or heard of saffron.
That is so interesting and worth a try. I’m sorry it’s been so challenging for you. Good luck!
Oh no, I’m sorry. What specific things are you trying to manage with the saffron? My next best advice would be to teach your kiddo mindful mediation or ry some apps together and provide lots of time out in nature as well as exercising. My son exhibits less challenging symptoms when he has amble movement opportunities and outdoor exploration.
My 9 year old recently had to stop taking stimulants. He takes Barlean’s Omega Swirl, Bacopa Monnieri, Zahler’s ChildCalm (it has saffron!), and Creekside’s Focused Mind Jr. I think the most benefit has been from the bacopa.
Zahler brand for ChildCalm which has magnesium, saffron, L-theanine and he takes 1 chewable 2x per day. For Bacopa he takes the Double Wood brand, about 250mg once per day.
