Need a therapist for my 7 year old

I have a 7 year old daughter that was diagnosed with ADHD last spring. We took her to a therapist that is associated with her pediatrician but it was a bad fit. Does anyone have a resource for finding a good child therapist that specializes in ADHD?

There unfortunately is no easy path. I would start with searching:

1. “child psychologist near me.”

2. Check with your insurance (though it’s rare to none for them to accept in-network, some accept out-of-network).

3. Ask the doctor who diagnosed your child for referrals.

Then find patient reviews for them by doing a search on their name.

Lastly, choose the three whose profiles resonate with you the most and set up consultations with each. No one can know which will be the right fit except you. There is a lot of footwork at the start but finding the right doctor is important.

I would start with my insurance. You can go to your insurance company's website and browse providers that are covered. Then you can look at some user reviews and make your best decision off of that. See if the school has any recommendations. Best of luck!
