I have an 8yo with severe food allergies and his only supplement he takes is multivitamin and iron. I believe he doesn't get enough omega 3 so I also try to add flax seed in his diet (not consistent though as he is a picky eater due to the food allergies). Anyone have any recommendations for supplements with DHA thats allergy free?
Also has anyone tried SNAP adhd (adhdsnap.com)? or Natural Calm Specifics by Natural Vitality?
Also if you have any other supplement recommendation thats vegan/allergy free please comment below!
Thank You!

Look at broad spectrum micronutrients. There are two companies, True Hope and Hardy Nutritionals. Would eliminate a bunch of different supplements. We also use Nordic Naturals fish oil.
I heard about these. I wonder if my son would need to get lab work for micronutrient deficiency first? He has an appointment soon and I'll be bringing this up. Did yours do any type of testing first?
No testing. Psychiatrist started him out on one pill twice per day and then we increased it. Saw noticeable changes with him when he reached two pills three times per day. We use the Hardy Nutritionals DEN. We were in a bad situation at the time. He was on Focalin and Guanfacine and they wanted to put him on Prozac. Micronutrients ended up being what he needed. I encourage everyone to research them. My son is 8 and he takes four pills in the morning, four at noon, and three at night. He has had a great school year; moved from self-contained to general education and going strong. For the first time teachers come up to me and tell me how much they love him. We even got stopped in the grocery store yesterday by a bus driver for the district. She told him how great he always is on the bus. When I think back to a year ago....we were in a medical facility looking at having him go inpatient. Now we are in a totally different place, and he is healthy and happy. It is very important to have a psychiatrist who works with you if your child is already on medications because if micronutrients work for your child it is likely their medication will need to be reduced or eliminated. I wish you the best!
Just to mention...these are $150 a bottle. They didnt work for my son they just made him way more anxious. It has a lot of vitamin B which my son wasn't deficient in. If you're already doing blood draws I would have his magnesium, vitamin d, and vitamin b checked before investing in these.
My son has severe allergies as well. We do nordic natrual jr complete omega supplement, rainbow lite vitamin d 1,000 iu, rainbow light probiotic, and rainbow light vitamin c, and rainbow light nutrients one; NOT nutri stars.
Rainbow light is vegan, nut free, etc they all taste great and have made a difference for my sons immune system and health. We use zarbees elderberry with zinc gummys when he has a cold. The nutri stars has gluten in it.
Re: nordic natural omega supplement. My son is allergic to shell fish and certain fish but he can have salmon and tilapia. Is your son allergic to shell fish? If so he's ok with this omega 3 supp.? Its also a soft Gell and he has trouble swallowing so I have to crush everything or blend is applesauce. Does yours take it ok?
Shellfish is the one allergy we dont have lol I think its derived from salmon I can check. They are softgels, my son has been swallowing them since age 4. i think you can also chew them slightly. They are very small, a little bigger than a tic tac.
I checked it's derived from anchovies and sardines. I sent a msg to his allergies to see if she recommends this. Hope our little one grow it of these allergies!
Oh and those hardy naturals are the size of prenatal vitamins. My son could swallow them at age 5 but he is excellant at swallowing pills due to other health issues he has. They were trying to come up with a water soluble powder but told me that it definitely didnt taste good.
Go to the rainbow light vitamin website. They are free of all top 8 except the nutri stars which recently added wheat. It irritates me and i hope it's not a sign of things to come for their other vitamins. They have a lot of chewable and gummys that dont have a ton of sugar.
I use Natural Vitality Calm for Kids. It's a berry flavored powder that I mix into diluted cherry juice in the evening (a nutritionist told me cherry juice is calming?) Has magnesium, b-vitamins, small amount of theanine. We also use All-Star Nutrition probiotic powder. It's a gluten, sugar and dairy free product. I can't promise any of it makes much difference, but I feel better giving it to him anyway.
