My son been on elvanse for about 10 months, we noticed improvement but his anxiety started to get worse, it now seem he in constant flight or fight mode and has started being violent and started to have very bad night terrors. Could it be the medication? Or would all this start to show at the Start.

I would definitely discuss this with his doctor. Sometimes medications make things worse or sometimes an additional medication needs to be added for other symptoms. My grandsons have severe anxiety and some depression and one medication alone has never worked for one of them.
He is now 13 but had crippling anxiety staring around age 3. Would cry and hang on me when being dropped off at daycare or Sunday school. Any new situation would send him into a tizzy. Also had severe anger issues. But he is the outgoing, more social one.
He was put on Abilify way back in kindergarten and later Risperidone which is the only medication that controlled his anger.
We recently added Intuniv which has really been a plus. He stills gets agitated at times, little things tend to get on his nerves. Trying to teach him to tell us to back off or to go off and cool down at those times.
Elvanse is pretty hardcore. I'm 41 and started on it 2 weeks ago and only on 31mg, but still adjusting. On medicines.org.uk/emc/produc... it says that it should only be tried if methyphenidate (Ritalin) was unsuccessful. The Elvanse 1-a-day slow release is more convenient of course, if getting him to take his pills is difficult. If he's under the care of a mental health professional, they should really review and adjust or change. Changing stimulants and hitting puberty sounds like a tough challenge in itself. All those hormones AND stimulants, poor kid.
