My 6 year old was diagnosed this morning
Welcome to the ADHD community. We know it can be exhausting at times. When you're ready, CHADD has a lot of great information to help you get started. I suggest beginning at Parenting a Child with ADHD chadd.org/for-parents/overv... to learn more about ADHD and how to help your 6 year old.
You can also call CHADD's health information specialists at 866-200-8098 M-F, 1-5 p.m., for help with finding resources and understanding what your child may be experiencing -- or just to talk through your options in treatment and lifestyle management.
Best wishes!

The beginning can be particularly difficult, it hang in there!
My first recommendation is to learn all you can from credible, evidence based resources. As Karen posted, CHADD is an awesome place to start. I also found the school psychologist extremely helpful in those early days.
Some other resources I found particularly helpful (not to overwhelm you):
All About ADHD by Thomas Phelan
Smart but Scattered by Peg Dawson
just about anything by Russell Barkley
Understood.org
We’ve all been there & will do our best to help you through this!
Welcome, hope we can help you on your journey.
