I purchased a mp3 for my 12 year old daughter for Christmas. I am loading it with inspirational and upbeat songs for her. She struggles SO MUCH with social things and friendships and in general with anxiety and her ADHD. She loves Taylor Swift (and yes, I can sing all of her songs and know ALL of the lyrics) I have already have some songs: Girl on Fire, Who says, Who I am, Stronger, Beautiful, Fly, Fight Song...
I am from the 80's, I personally would be putting Bon Jovi, the Top Gun soundtrack, Journey, you get the picture - I know I just started you guys singing.
Perhaps Kidz Bop? They remake popular songs to rephrase any of the “inappropriate” words. They have several Taylor Swift song remakes too. My children are younger than yours but they love the music. They also have some Holiday albums too.
Side note, I took my daughter to their concert and I think I had more fun than she did!
I think it's awesome you're doing it for her. I love music and find it such a thoughtful gift. There were two more songs I love but a line from each make them not as appropriate with her age.
