Homework and IEP Accomedations

I was wondering if anyone has an accomedations on their child's IEP for reduced homework or no homework. I am getting a lot of push back from the school and wondred what other parents experience has been. Thanks : )

May I ask how old your child is?

One of my boys has an IEP with accomodations for reduced homework. I was able to get this because I was able to show a history with him of failure in his spelling because of comprehension problems as well as a problem with his math. He was taking way too long to complete homework which went beyond the school district's homework policy of how long it should take a child to do homework.

If you look up your school's homework policy and find out how long they say a child your son or daughter's age should do homework each night and compare it against how long your child is actually doing homework each night, you'll have a better argument for reduced homework.

We have pieces in our IEP for testing, but not homework. Sadly, I keep asking for homework so I can see where my daughter is in class, but we have a no-home work teacher this year who doesn't want to send extra sheets home for us to work on. Luckily, her support team will do it for us when we ask.

That all said, why is the school pushing back and how old is your child?
