My 13 year old have been diagnosed with severe ADHD and bipolar disorder. I noticed something was wrong a few years ago when she went from a straight A student to making C's and D's... Any advice.. I'm bout to go crazy.

I have a 13 year old daughter as well with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. We seem to be doing better lately under the care of an holistic medicine dr. and several supplements. Her mood may be better, but her adolescent brain functioning along with ADHD causes her daily issues at school academically and with peers. She's sees a therapist once a week for CBT. It's 1 step forward 2 steps back but there is some progress being made. This is life long so patience, acceptance, the right treatments, and love is my advice :)

We have only had a diagnosis for about 18 months. My daughter has experienced bullying and assault and it continues. She inserts herself into situations and around people that are toxic and bring her down. We can't seem to make too much progress there. I think all of what I mentioned above is a good combo but it's all about progress not perfection. I have grieved over the fact that she may never rise to her potential due to her mental disabilities. It's a tough one still, but I've decided to put love and acceptance first with boundaries and expectations and we are closer than we have been in years. Find the right treatment approach whether its natural or not and patience. It's going to be a long road.

That is exactly how I describe my teenage son. He takes one step forward and then two steps back in school.

13 year old grandson is currently on Wellbutrin and intuniv and it's back to being the kid he used to be, concentrating in school , affectionate. He is also seeing a behavioral therapist.
