Hello I am a mother of 3 kids and my two oldest have ADHD. I feel so drained with all the Dr appointment, therapist, homework, activities but they have so much energy still. Where do all the other parents get energy to keep going?!?!
I need energy!!!: Hello I am a mother... - CHADD's ADHD Pare...
I need energy!!!
Hey there! I wish I had some great advice for you but I feel the same way some days. I'm a single dad and my 8 yr old wears me out a lot of days. I feel like I have to be "on" all day and can't afford to have a bad or tired day. A couple of things that have helped me are meditation and mindfulness practices. It can often help keep things in perspective and those practices are known to actually boost your energy. Good luck!
We don’t, lol! We are all in the same boat. My advice is to find another parent who understands or has similar kids and you can vent to. I wish I had better words of wisdom but I don’t. I’m on here today because I’m exhausted. I’ve been trying to get my son to do a school project that is due this week for the last three hours. He’s sat and stared at the blank page and ranted and been exasperated to the point that I am now exhausted and hiding in the bedroom looking at this page! Some days are worse than others. I completely agree and also feel like I have to be “on” all day. I exercise one hour a day (getting interrupted of course since I’m at home) and that’s not enough. Hang in there- there are millions of parents like us out there, all of us are just keeping our heads above water. You’re doing a great job!
Well put lol I hide in the restroom to try and get reenergized but still they find me 😂. Reading this really helped me thank you. Thank you for also reminding me I'm doing a great job! I know you are too as well as all the other adults here. Well let's get back to it 😉 !
Try to find a sport or a recreation programs that they all join hopefully at the same, if you can duck out for a few minutes if your comfortable with leaving them. Go to a nearby restaurant, sit there a play a game do some reading or something relaxing, write in a journal or meet a friend for a coffee break.
A few minutes won't cure your blues right away but ur children will be happy and eager to tell you all about there adventures!!
The point is you just stolen a few minutes to get back on track and face the next xhallenge.
