You may want to go to YouTube and search Russell Barkley for ADHD. His insight provide so much relief for my mind. Before I thought I was running in circles dealing with the same thing over and over. I'm single with 2 sons with ADHD, now 14 & 12, diagnosed at age 6 & 4. There are still struggles but I'm handling it in a better way, still needing improvement. But knowledge is key and a Whole lot of patience.
Rusell Barkley's book Taking Charge of ADHD (or other books from reputable publishers) and the National Resource Center on ADHD at help4adhd.org.
