Any body please ... need advice

Hi

My son is struggling in inclusion hes in 1st grade,

I want to ask can i request one on one aide for him .

Who have to make a request me or teacher .

Please anybody share your experience or view I will higly appreciate

If your son has a diagnosis of ADHD in some states/counties he would be considered to have a special need and therefore provided with assistance at school. Ask the school director! Hope this helps.

Hello... You can request it as a parent. ...they may want to evaluate your child to ensure they really need an aid... but my son has and needs one because of his focus and attention....he does things to get attention and has trantums when he isn't called on... Parents voice is very important. You have to be very vocal with a child that has adhd....we know our children best. My son is in the 1st grade as well and he is extremely smart but struggling heavily, I've been though the IEP process numerous times to where they just approved for my son to go to a non public private approved state school. I'm so thankful, hoping he can get the help he needs. I don't believe in giving these children meds. .......I'm not saying they all dont need it but that's the first thing they want to do once your child is diagnosed. I read all these storiws about meds being given to these children and its sadden....the meds rarely work and the ones it works one..it ends up wearing off or they have to go though numberous medication to find one to work.... I say get ready because this is just the beginning. We have fight for our children and make sure they succeed .

Also....my son was just removed out of the ICT setting into a smaller classroom..... 12:1......its much better for his focus and attention.

son is self contained now??In

non public school you have to pay or what.

I will tell them

again for one on one but they say no in inclusion class he s already getting small group sessions as well.

I recently made an appointment for neuro of my son lets see and below is my son back story

He was diagnosed with mild learning disability and dvlopemntal delays in prek 4 not yet Officially diagnosed with adhd but i see signs in him i got a date from neuro in june .

My son is currently first grade INCLUSION full time now His 3rd marking period started today . He was out of country for some emergency family vacations from sep to dec 2017 and he joined back school in first grade in dec 2017

School put my son in full time self contained in kindergarten in SEP 2016 by putting pressure on me that they have no other option or leave school without even trying accommodations and it was like a cold fight between me and social worker, I also was unaware of my rights at that time ,then I raise my voice at IEP and even contacted special ed director they helped me alot then.

otherwise he had no behaviourial issues other than smtimes he get lil silly or laughing dont know how to make friends also hes getting speech and ot and showed alot of improvement .

This year they put him in first grade inclusion and hes getting support but at recent IEP iep meeting

I feel they want to put him back in self contained as he is not doing much good in maths and comprehension reading

He pass his weeklie special tests of his modified levels but in alternate week of test of main curriculum maths he fails in one marking period in english and also teacher put his maths marks up bybtaking quizess .Is such student is liable to follow core curriculum as well in maths and in english what could be his rights .

I am praying I dn want to put him again in self contained because he was regressing in social behaviours .All day he spent with some serious behaviour kids as well and restricted environment.

He is very good reader and good in writing as well he is very loving nice boy .

Now in inclusion hes is very happyy but not doing good in major subjects and some times he lost in his world he knows the answer but dn speak sometimes .

Also i am going to evaluate him from neuro independently if he have adhd or not in newjersey.
