When our son was younger, the pain problems were his destructive tendencies, inability to foresee any type of danger/hazard and verbal 'outbursts'. Difficult to know how much was due to his ADHD and how much due to his Asperger's. In the pre-school days, I seemed to spend all my time apologising for his "awful" behaviour. Once the ADHD was diagnosed and medication started, life was easier and now at the grand old age of 21, he's off his ADHD meds , holding down gainful employment ,has mates to socialise with and is ( in the main) happy. The Aspergers can make life tricky at times and on occasions, he drives us mad, but things overall have turned out much better than we could have hoped for
