Just 5000 steps last night (+ of course other incidentals) ๐Ÿ™‚

Been a busy couple of days with 2 different hospital appointments, blood tests and ultrasound!

Changes in medication and a lot of information to process so an evening walk was very much needed !

It's a route just over 4k which I used to walk with my neighbour a few years ago .

Unfortunately he is no longer able to join me but it's a nice relaxing walk .

One maybe to think about running one day ๐Ÿค”

Although it has a few too many inclines for my liking ๐Ÿ˜

The picture of the foxglove was quite a random spot !

Just poking through a hedge all on its own ๐Ÿ™‚

Great photo, Ian! I share your view of inclines ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done for getting these walks in as well as the runs! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Thanks Jools , hope to get up to 10000 today after the heat and the forecast rain ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿคž

Good to hear you can still get out and about I57, albeit it not running at the moment but hopefully youโ€™ll get there one day soon! And I love the flower photos you post with your run reports, keep โ€˜em coming please!

Youโ€™re making good progress Ian. Foxgloves are among my favourite plants and I have quite a few in the garden. The white ones are in flower at the moment, hoping to see the pink ones in flower soon. The bees love them. Hope Misty is finding some cool places to rest in this hot weather. ๐ŸŒž

Haha, yes Misty sleeps under bushes in the heat .And yes I know bee's love foxglove..... I used to keep bee's ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Had 7 hives at most and my local supermarket used to buy my honey ๐Ÿ˜

Rachmaninov2 profile image

Thatโ€™s so interesting, I expect it was quite time consuming. The honey must have been good for the supermarket to buy it.

Just out of interest, what happened to the bees?

Nice picture ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, it was very time consuming!Especially in swarming season ๐Ÿคฃ

It's an independent supermarket and they actually paid me ยฃ5 a jar for my honey and sold it at ยฃ6.50

It used to fly off the shelf as it was labeled on the shelf as local honey from local bee's

I had several hives stolen that I had in an out apiary, and then sol ones I had at home after some problems with locals and my swarms landing in their gardens... I didn't need the hassle

I can imagine it being very popular, shame you were not able to continue.

On the face of it bee keeping seems a fairly harmless and hassle free occupation (apart from getting stung of course ), I certainly hadnโ€™t thought about the hives being stolen!

No, not something you would expect !And the sad part is. .... It's probably other bee keepers โ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿค”

Awful, I hope the bees were OK. I donโ€™t suppose the move would have been good for them.

I hope all these new changes are for the best although it must be a lot to get your head round.

Do you know youโ€™ve just made me stop and think that since I have become โ€˜a runnerโ€™ I can still get out for a walk - weirdly I used to walk all the time but since Iโ€™ve taken running up - I donโ€™t and I miss it. You spotted a beautiful flower and took a photo - something I wouldnโ€™t do on a run but definitely would on a walk. Iโ€™m finding Iโ€™m not enjoying running in the summer - itโ€™s way too hot so Iโ€™m going to do some long walks instead ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‰

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57 in reply to Dendev75

That's brilliant! You know half my problem was I simply did not move enough!

I used to think 'Oh, I've been for a run today I don't need to do anything else'

How wrong was I !!!

yes I am the same, Iโ€™ve done my Parkrun this morning so a few weeks ago that would mean chill and treat time but now Iโ€™m trying to choose healthy choices to eat and Iโ€™m going to head to my allotment tonight for a couple of hours of weeding ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Gorgeous! 5000 steps is awesome! I still suffer backaches at times when walking, but not when running.

But Iโ€™ve not given up the hope of long, energetic beautiful walks on top of shorter, slow, meditative runs! ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks, I'm still keeping an eye on my back and still very conscious of it , but also trying to get the best I can from my cardiac recovery.

We don't all get a 2nd chance and I fully intend to grab the opportunity with both hands.

I'm trying to get between 8 and 10,000 steps a day of walking or run and walks .

I'm also now soooo strict with my diet , as you know , I used to love baking !

Well all that has changed .

I have now lost 15lbs (6.8kg) since I came out of hospital.

Once I make my mind up on something I don't let go (you may have noticed ๐Ÿคฃ)

Determination or stubbornness, call it what you will ๐Ÿ˜

Lovely photo of the fox gloves Ian and congratulations on completing week 2 of C25K, I don't like inclines either, if I am running and the incline is very steep I slow down and walk.

Thank you Alan ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘I will need to take in a few inclines as I get further into the program but I'm familiar with those ones now ๐Ÿ˜

Lovely photo and colour. My steps is supposedly 8000 steps but today 2 walks so over that. Wish Mr D had motivation like you. Too stubborn to go and see anyone about his back , months now.

Oh dear, that's a shame !I must admit , I do sometimes have to force myself, between watching my back and my cardiac rehab.

I ran this morning, and I'll walk later (weather permitting!)

Which should bring me somewhere near 11,000 for the day .

I am of course trying (and succeeding) to get my weight down as well .

I've lost 15lb (6.8kg) so far
