Radiation Treatment

I am 80 years old and have just been diagnosed with non-aggressive prostate cancer..

The Urologist has recommended 35 one hour sessions of Radiation Treatment.

I’m worried about the side affects at my age and would ask any member who has experience in this area or indeed has had this treatment and could advise me of its impact? Or who may have rejected any such treatment and chose to do nothing!

At 80 years old..... with non-aggressive Pca...... tell your urologist by quoting an old Italian/Irish expression "to go fuck himself".......

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

DAMN, I'm only 73 and would be worried at my age now or even 10+ years ago.

IMO, say goodbye to the Urologist and find someone new. If comfortable, some information regarding your diagnosis would helpful.

Specifically what side effects are you worried about. If you go to UTube and search and look for a recent video by Dr Scholts (sp). It is how to handle prostrate cancer at 80. It was excellent and somewhat unique.

Being that age most of the guidance you find is aimed for younger men.
