Hip replacement done at front of upper thigh

Hi just wondering if anyone has had this done and the after pain? I was told hip was less painful than knee but this has been very painful! I was also told it's quicker to heal as not so many muscles are cut? Any experiences on this and what you did/take to help? Thanks sal
