Hello everyone, I have a AN and I am on a watch and wait. 2 days ago I got this numbness on the same side as AN. I would describe it as the feeling you get when you have had a numbing injection at the dentist and it starts to tingle as its wearing off . Kind of like pins and needles just on the one side . My question is this -Is it likely to be linked to the AN
If the answer is yes , should I be worried?
Thank you in advance.

I have just had the results of my first scan since diagnosis this morning and I asked the very same question to the consultant.
I have had intermittent tingling of the face on the same side as my tumour, it often goes away after a few days. Anyway, I was told that my facial nerve is caught up with the tumour but not to worry as it’s a motor nerve so it’s very robust. The facial nerve controls movement. Sensation is given by the trigeminal nerve, which is no where near my small AN, therefore the tingly feeling is being caused by something else. I was told it my is larger ANs that cause issue with facial sensation. Mine is 8mm x 5mm x 5mm for reference.
I think my tingly feeling happens when I have a cold or infection but I’ve also read anxiety can cause facial tingles and we’ll all have at least a touch of anxiety about our ANs.
I hope this helps, try not to worry too much about it, but if you are ask your medical team.
DH32, Thank you for taking the time to reply to me today . That certainly puts my mind at rest . Unfortunately every symptom I have I immediately think it's caused by the AN. But, of course it isn't . It is good to hear from someone else who is going through the same . Have a good Christmas and thank you again.
