Radiation twice anyone?

Good morning. I had radiation four years ago for an acoustic neuroma and it did shrink to start with but unfortunately grew back so had to have gamma knife again. The first time I had gamma knife I was pretty much back to “normal” after a couple of days but this time is ten days later and my head still feels like it is swelling from the inside out, I feel a little nauseous and very dizzy and have a throbbing feeling in my head constantly. Has anyone else experienced this that can give some advice please?

Thank you

Hi, I am due to start radiation treatment next month so can’t answer personally but have seen many discussions about these very symptoms on the Facebook BANA support group. Speak to your team about what is happening ( you should have been given a 24 hour number to call?). I believe it can be a fairly long haul in terms of symptoms as causes swelling so you may need more steroids or further checks, so keep talking to the team who are responsible for your care, and take it very easy… I think it’s more usual to have these symptoms than not., all the very best,, let me know how you get on overc the next 6 months or so.
