VA found a 2.8mm neuroma in my left canal but my hearing loss is in the right ear. Any reason why this should occur?

I have the same situation, AN on right side but hearing loss on left. My neurosurgeon said the hearing loss on the left is not related to the AN. I had a strange blocked feeling in my right ear which led to the MRI and the AN was discovered. I’m currently on watch and wait, next scan is September.
Hope this helps
