I had Stereotactic Radio Surgery at Guys one year ago, it was 15mm.I had the results of my one year scan today, it was a telephone appointment. The nurse said, there was a minimal increase, has anyone had a similar experience after a year?
One year scan.: I had Stereotactic... - Acoustic Neuroma ...
One year scan.
Yes, I did. Apparently they would expect swelling (in the 6-12 month scan) from the radiotherapy (so I was told). This gives the appearance of growth, but they can tell after 2 years whether this is settled and not growing any further. I was told on my 6 month and 12 month scan that it was slightly swollen. But at the 2 year scan I was told it had settled and wouldn’t need another scan for 2 years. Hope this reassures you, but do speak to your Dr. rather than the nurse for further info.
I’m in a similar position but had SRS 3 months ago for a 12mm AN. I’m having increased dizziness, fuzzy head and balance issues which I’m assuming is due to the swelling. Have you had any issues over the last year? All the specialists assured me that most people had no symptoms at all which doesn’t seem to be the case from the online forums. Thanks, and sorry to answer your question with a question!
Since my treatment a year ago,my tumor has flared up and I’ve had balance problems, and facial spasms, however things are more settled now.
