Hi Guys ,

I had an acoustic Neuroma removed 7 months ago , it was 33mm.

I have had many different side effects and also loosing my hearing and balance nerve in right ear.

I was slowly getting better then all of a sudden my sort of dizzyness nerve feeling has gone back to what it was 3 months ago wich is so frustrating. Also a washing machine type noise comes and goes and tinnitus is very bad.

Supermarket has always been a problem maybe brain not coping with so many items and different colors then started to feel a bit better. But now it feels terrible just to much for me to handle and feels like ive gone backwards a few months.

Has anyone felt the same or similar thing happen going backwards for a little while ?

Cheers

Mick

Is there pain in the back of your head (cerebellum area)?

Does this area feel warm/hot to the touch?

Does the swooshing occur or get louder with alcohol consumption or exercise?

Hi there

I feel for ur frustration.

Could I possibly ask,do you get a sort of knitting needle feeling in your inner ear and up to the edge of your head where your acoustic neuroma is or was ?sorry can’t think of any other way of explaining the feelings I get in my ear and head.

I wish you well in your recovery and I hope all sorts it’s self out.

Sorry for the slight of wall question

Regards

There's a lot of things it could be that is causing your problems. However if you're like me, and it seems common to a lot of post operative AN patients, you could very well be suffering from Hyperacusis (or hyperacousis) is a highly debilitating hearing disorder characterized by an increased sensitivity to certain frequencies and volume ranges of sound (a collapsed tolerance to usual environmental sound).

Hi, im new on here and my husband had a 38mm tumour with a cyst removed in May last year, he is really struggling he has good days and bad. I thought I was seeing a bit of an improvement in him over xmas and the new year but he is now struggling again. Half an hour in the supermarket today and he had had enough, uneven balance and struggling to concentrate but he is now also suffering with swollen ankles and knee pain. the doctor is treating him for gout but the tablets are having no effect, I am waiting on a reply from the Skull Base Team to see if it could be anything to do with the op he had.
