Can olive oil cause Tinnitus

Been using Earol one day, 3 squirts once a week, and olive oil the following day. Now have noises in left ear. Can olive oil b the cause?

No.

All the audiology community and the BTA themselves advise olive oil is a perfectly safe substance to keep your ear lubricated, so I wouldn't worry about that being the cause. How have you been administering it? If you're sticking the dropper right inside your ear, that's more likely to cause problems than the oil itself. What's more likely I would suggest, if you're using Earol and olive oil, is that the wax you're trying to encourage to leave your ear has formed a plug that's occluding your eardrum slightly - might be that that's affecting your hearing ever so slightly and your brain is turning up the volume to try and compensate.

Been putting olive oil into ear with dropper, and Earol with spray. Do you think olive oil has gelled in my ear? I ask this coz Dr said he saw some yellow stuff at the back of my ear?

Of course not - you've probably bunged your ear canal up so internal noises are louder. Are you having any wax removed - preferably by suctioning rather than syringing?

Haven't been offered it yet, been given some drops with steroid in as Dr said canel was a bit red and swollen. Do you think That would help?

Definitely - be patient and get the wax removed eventually..
