Bleeding before period

Hi ladies. For the last four months I’ve been spotting before my period. Usually 8 days before starts off very light usually In the mornings and when i go to the bathroom to poop. Gets a bit more leading up to my period and then have light bleeding a couple days before then I have my normal period, then it stops until after I ovulate again. I’ve had ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, ct scan and been examined twice by gp and then gynaecologist. Cervix all looks normal and won’t do a smear test until June as not due one. Not had hormones tested yet as gp said it’s not accurate I had thyroid checked and that was fine. Has anyone else had this ? It’s driving me insane.

Hi there it could be hormone related I’m 49 had the same it was perimenopause to blame , but I would wait for smear if that’s normal then yep it’s hormones x

GP doesn’t want to do hormone test? So does the GP think you should just ‘live with it’?

You’re bleeding how many days a month?

Are you on contraceptive pill?

Could it be linked to the menopause?

I wonder if you might go back to the GP and explain that it does actually affect your quality of life. Yes, they’ve checked to see you don’t have any serious condition, but surely they should offer you some options. I don’t know much about it but I think that they can prescribe one of the varieties of contraceptive pill to control this.

Don’t be fobbed off is my feeling. 🙂
