I’m not sure if this is a good spot for this post, but I can’t seem to find a good place for it. I’m just curious if anyone knows how long he pain from a kidney infection should last after starting antibiotics..I went to the dr and started antibiotics Friday and am still in a lot of pain, but I take my antibiotics one pill three times a day.

Kidney Infection
Antibiotics usually start working within 48 hours, if you've had no improvement in the next day or so call your GP, you may need a different antibiotic.
I’ve suffered from a fair few kidney infections and UTIs and as a rule I take one full dose of the antibiotics and normally I feel a bit better but you should feel much better by 2 full doses so by 48hrs if not you need another antibiotic. Contact your GP and make sure they’ve sent a sample off. If they haven’t take one in and get it sent and request a new antibiotic- sometimes they give you a bog standard one - tends to be trimethoprim- and for me it never works- a dr told me the bacteria tends not to change so once you know what works for you you should take a note and request that and get them to check your urine sample to make sure the bacteria aren’t resistant to the antibiotic you’re currently on.
Hope you feel better soon, kidney infections are the worst! xx
