Thanks for the friendly welcome Joel. I am joining this community because I have over the last 8 months or so embarked on a functional strength training programme. Recently however I went to a personal trainer to get a better (proper?) programme and am very excited to be deadlifting 8kg - as opposed to a previous 2. I now do two one hour sessions a week. Do I love it? No I don't. However - I love the feeling of being stronger and the confidence it brings me and it seems, bizarrely, to put me into a good mood. I am sure there is some complicated chemical reason for that and I am not complaining. I realise that some of you will be deadlifting 100kg and therefore I am very puny. But I am getting less puny and will enjoy that process in the company of others like yourselves

I've recently joined the couch to 5k group and found them very encouraging to a beginner, and a slow beginner at that, and I look forward to meeting some of you online in the future.
