Getting going....
Hiya, I've stumbled across this site today and think it will help to talk to others. I too have a long road ahead but not thinking about that too much. I'm 52yrs old and need to get this weight off. I've just started a new business venture with my partner and need lots of energy if I'm to survive the summer. We are also talking of getting married at the end of the year so have a great goal to aim for. Good luck to everyone. If anyone has any tips on NOT
using food to make you feel good then please share ;0)
Hi guys I turned 50 last month and decided this time weight will be off for good maybe not that magical 5 stone to be at a target weight but somewhere on way down to it I should feel healthier and at a weight I can manage so not looking at scary figure I should lose but taking it 7 lbs at a time as when you drop through another 1/2 stone bracket the feeling is great. Also trying to alter tiny bad habits that all add up like.... No laughing now but I was a fridge nibble person while suppose to be cooking! So I stay out as much as poss or chew gum so can't accidentally pop cheese in ( tastes awful with gum lol ) and remind myself that everything counts and adds up. So any non snacking ideas or healthy swap ideas really helpful for all of us good luck to all of us. As previously said all tips are helpful.
Hi, just a small tip that works for me. I was a real nibbler,I would eat nonstop especially in the evenings. Now I have nothing in my house to nibbled except weetabix ( the most basic brand) and I have one with skimmed milk if I am feeling desperate to eat something. On a bad day I might even have another but it is a fairly low calory snack and incredibly filling. Not sweet either. My other treat is a highlights drinking chocolate topped with whipped up skimmed milk also filling and a real chocolate hit for about 55 cals max. Good luck, hope you find your own ok snacks to keep you on track.
Well I am 56 now and just started with a personal trainer. Although I am reasonably fit (except for usual knees, sciatica, achilles) my trainer told me I should add more protien to my diet and then I would not get the nibbles.
I've just joined today and I too am very wary of what lies ahead especially as i did lose 2.5 st a few years ago and over the past year or so it's all crept back on but let's try to keep each other motivated
Also I've just started exercising regularly again and it's a real pain when you're in your late 40's + and working full time - also still have family dinner to cook every night...
But got to stay focussed and build exercise up gradually - remember every little bit helps

This is it we are only human and its little tips, ideas and friendly banter that will lead us to the route of success. Also have you noticed how it keeps hands busy typing these messages out lol I'm certain even if its one tiny habit/ diet change at a time, a tiny increase in exercise and a huge amount of motivation and friendly laughs on the way that weight will gradually go go go! Not going to fret how long it takes as long as it goes and stays gone we can do it.
Pickle onions is a good one to help wanting sweet things
