Hi,

From a health point of view it makes no difference what time of day you exercise. Do what works best for you. That said, it's not a good idea to exercise on a full stomach so best to leave at least two hours after a meal before exercising. Personally, I'd exercise before dinner and have something to look forward to!

Ok thankyou :) yeah thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure I was doing it the right way. Ive started my new plan now i started it yesterday. I watched my calories and then went swimming after work and then had dinner after swimming but the problem I had was swimming isnt till 8 so I was hungry before swimming and didnt wanna go over my calorie intake but then realised after I hadnt eaten enough calories yesterday. Is this a bad thing?

I do after work and before dinner, but if it's going to be quite late, I log what I am planning to have for dinner, see how many calories I have left to play with for a snack and maybe have something just to keep the wolf from the door - e.g. a banana is pretty good or a cracker and low fat cheese or something. e.g. nothing heavy enough to make you feel lethargic.

oh, and not good to go too much under your calories. okay for a 1 off, but try not to do it on a regular basis. Are you going under your actual calorie allowance or the adjusted allowance for the exercise you have done? I tend to stick to the actual allowance but never really use up the extra calories gained by exercise, but I know if I am hungry or fancy a treat, I have those in the bank :)
