I've restarted

β€’20 Replies

Asked for my badge to be set to "restarted February 2021". I have finally been honest with some people at work and said I'd like to lose some weight and I now have a space at work where I can exercise properly πŸ˜ƒ

Hi :) I hope your colleagues will be supportive and encouraging, and that you'll have strategies in place for dealing with any workplace treats and sweets.

Good news Hidden acknowledgement that you need to restart is a good thing. I have to do that often, but it means I have stayed a healthy weight for 3.5 years now, even though I am just at the top. I let things slide over the winter, when I cannot get outdoors and it creeps up on me. Support from others is really important. Hope you have a good week.

Well done on taking such positive action Iamwhatiam. Its not always easy to face work colleagues but they sound really supportive. Share a bit more and you may find they become invested in your journey too. Once my work colleagues realised i wasnt ill (i returned from school summer holidays a couple of stone lighter and on crutches) they have been really supportive and in the main keep lids of staffroom treats so they arent visible.

Wishing you the best of luck my musketeer friend. You can do this πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– xx

Thank you

One of the most challenging blocks to progress, I've found, is the willingness to ask for help when I need it. I'm not sure why we have this ingrained tendency toward self-isolation, but once I was able to overcome it and ask for support if not help from others, this created a kind of 'space' where all kinds of people were able to offer help and support; it was as if they were just waiting to be asked.

So true. Ive been determined to keep it all a secret since June, feels nice to let the truth out

Well done for making the decision to restart Hidden . I fell off the wagon big time at the end of last year but missed the support and camaraderie of this group and returned a couple of days ago.

Having the support of your colleagues is great. It’s going to make life easier for you to do what you need to.

Good luck to you on this journey. We are all here to cheer you on. X
